see & do 1872 Saloon & Old Mill Event Center This cozy dive bar and event space is full of rich history and is listed on the National Historic Register. Built in 1872, the original stone building was the first industrial facility of the Dakota Territory. It functioned as a flour mill, and also served as a fur trading post and rail stop. Today, the historical building serves as a saloon and event space full of original character. While you’re there, be sure to check out the sandstone wall where visitors would carve their initials. The farm features an open-air beer garden and dining experience among the hops with food from the Counterfeit Curbside food truck. Craft beer from local breweries and South Dakota wine is available to compliment a meal or to take back to the campfire. Tours on the basics of hop history, growing, processing and chemistry are available at select times. This modern day homestead is open on Saturday and Sunday evenings from 5 to 9 p.m. starting Father’s Day through Labor Day. Come check out a movie at the AMC Classic 5 located in the Yankton Mall. With five theaters, there is an assortment of movies to see.
