It’s Tim
Our amazing sponsors gave us the opportunity to offer a Pro Purse of almost $3,000, not to mention
the amateur payouts. This tournament brought people together from 5 states and two countries. In
2019, Yankton will host the South Dakota State Disc Golf Championship, which is quite the honor,”
says Jesse Bailey, Lewis & Clark Open and Ace Coalition Disc Golf League organizer.
If you aren’t ready to enter a tournament, but you want to try disc golf, Yankton has 4 permanent
courses on which you can experiment. Courses include:
1. 18-hole course at Fantle Memorial Park
2. 9-hole course at Cottonwood Campground
3. 9-hole course at Pierson Ranch Day Use Park
4. 18-hole course at the Gavin’s Point Day Use Park.
So go ahead, give it a try! Buy yourself a disc or rent some for FREE from the Lewis and Clark
Recreation Area Welcome Center, head to a course, and just start tossing. You’ll likely run into a
member of the Ace Coalition and, if you desire, they’ll show you everything you need to know (and
probably let you use their favorite disc)!
For more information on how to get involved with disc golf in the Yankton area, contact Jesse Bailey
at bales.jd@gmail.com. If you are on Facebook, head to The Ace Coalition’s League Page.
