Activities and Recreation Archery Ranges Gavins Point Section - Lewis & Clark Recreation Area 43349 SD Hwy. 52 (605) 668-2985 Archers may take advantage of a 28-target NFAA (National Field Archery Association) certified archery range, as well as a practice range. The archery range is set up into two, 14-target rounds and is laid out in a wooded section of the park, giving archers a natural setting to enjoy their sport. A new addition to the range is an elevated shooting platform with a 6’ and 12’ level for shooting at 3D targets. Scorecards, provided by Dakota Archery & Outdoor Sports, are available at the range. A park entrance license is required to use the range; $6/day or $30 for an annual permit. Open to the public from April 15 through Sept. 30, unless a special event is being held. Archers must bring their own equipment. NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Complex 800 Archery Ln. • (605) 260-9279 www.yanktonarcherycomplex.org The NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Complex is the home to the National Field Archery Association and is located at 800 Archery Ln. (just South of East Hwy. 50, behind the Super 8 Motel). The indoor shooting range is open year round from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Saturday and 12 - 7 p.m. on Sunday. Four outdoor ranges are available when weather permits. Local, National and International competitions are held each year. Group archery lessons, art classes and exercise classes are available, please check our Web site for more information and class times. Disc Golf Cottonwood Day Use Park (Lake Yankton Area) A 9-hole course is located at Cottonwood Day Use Park. No entrance fee required and scorecards available on the course. Bring your own discs. Gavins Point Day Use Area (Lewis and Clark Recreation Area) A newly expanded 18-hole course is located at the Gavins Point Day Use Area. Frisbees are available for checkout at the park office, park entrance license required, $6/day or $30 for an annual permit, and scorecards are available at the first tee. Fantle Memorial Park (21st Street and Douglas Avenue) An 18-hole course is also located at Fantle Memorial Park in Yankton. Call the Parks & Recreation office at (605) 668-5234 for more information. Pierson Ranch Day Use Area (Lake Yankton Area) A 9-hole course is located at the Pierson Ranch Day Use Area. Frisbees are available for checkout at the Pierson Ranch entrance booth. Park entrance license required, $6/day or $30 for an annual permit, and scorecards are available at the first tee. Gavins Point National Fish Hatchery & Aquarium 31227 436th Ave. (Three miles West on Highway 52) (605) 665-3352 www.fws.gov/gavinspoint/index.htm Built in 1960 on the Missouri River, the hatchery has produced over five billion fish for release in Midwestern waters. In the cool, softly lit surrounds of the aquarium, visitors become part of the aquatic environment as fish and turtles swim within 13 tanks. Exhibits, displays and aquatic animals located in the aquarium building explain the work and objectives of the hatchery. The hatchery is one of 65 national Federal Hatcheries and Fish Technology Centers operated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Open April 1 through Oct. 1 daily from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Hebda Family Produce & Prairie Gardens (formerly Garritys) 30661 444th Ave. (Five miles East on Whiting Drive and 2.5 miles North on 444th Avenue) (605) 665-2806 www.hebdaproduce.com A visit to Hebda Family Produce & Prairie Gardens located at Mission Hill is an orchard, berry farm and pumpkin patch which includes freshpicked strawberries, raspberries, fresh vegetables, pumpkins along with over 10 varieties of apples encompassing 55 acres. During the autumn months enjoy hayrack rides through the pumpkin patch, hay bale and cornstalk mazes. They are the farmers market where you will find homemade jams and jellies, fruit pies, salsa, spaghetti sauces, South Dakota made products and many gift ideas. Open June through Dec., Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Karttrax Family Fun Park (Go-Karts, Bumper Boats and Miniature Golf) Intersection of West 8th Street and 436th Street (Three miles West on Highway 52) (605) 665-1770 Karttrax Family Fun Park provides hours of entertainment for the whole family with a miniature golf, go-karts, bumper cars, bumper boats, two tracks, two seaters, kiddie go-karts, kiddie train, concessions and an arcade. Spring and Fall open on weekends from 1-4 p.m. or later. Summer hours Sunday-Thursday 1-9 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 1-10 p.m. (Open daily in the summer until school starts in Yankton.)
