bridge offers a wonderful vantage point to look upon the Recreational
River’s Wild and Scenic waters. Summer programming includes Junior
Ranger and other programs for youth; evening programs, canoe and fishing
clinics, programs at the Lewis & Clark Visitor Center, an exhibit at the

A formal water trail along
the Missouri River from
Gavins Point Dam near
Yankton, SD to Sioux City,
IA. This water trail
encompasses the entire
59-mile segment of the
Missouri National
Recreational River, as well
as an additional 20 river
miles from Ponca, NE to
Sioux City, IA, for a total of 79 river miles. The 39-mile segment of the
MNRR, from Fort Randall Dam to Running Water, SD, as well as an
additional 30 miles of Lewis and Clark Lake, will be added to the MNRR
Water Trail in 2013. The Web site includes information such as access
points along the river, points of interest, plants and wildlife, suggested
routes for half and full day excursions, provides maps and links to river
conditions and much more. Each access point along the MNRR Water Trail
has a trailhead sign, which includes maps, points of interest and safety
information.

For the young and young at heart, the 134’ water slide and zero depth pool
are great places to play. The Summit offers a strength and fitness area,
indoor pool, two performing arts theatres, indoor and outdoor walking
tracks, soccer fields, football fields, softball fields, eight lighted outdoor
tennis courts and gymnasium to help visitors keep in shape. Birthday pool
parties are now a reality with special rates available. There are also
meeting rooms available for special events. Daily rates are available. Open
Monday – Friday from 5 a.m. – 10 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. and
Sunday from Noon – 9 p.m.

downstream of Gavins Point Dam are popular with recreation enthusiasts

Bede Art Gallery

Bede Art Gallery provides a cultural center where professional artists
showcase their work. The gallery, located in the Marian Auditorium on
Mount Marty College campus, is named after and in remembrance of the
Benedictine monk, Bede the Venerable. Monthly exhibits from regional
artists are featured throughout the school year, many with an artist’s
Gallery Talk and reception. A student exhibit highlights the end of each
semester. The gallery is open to the public at no cost from Sept. through
